MetLife Foundation Museum and Community Connections Program
Stephen | Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009 | No Comments »The MetLife Foundation expects to award grants totaling $1 million in 2009 through its museum and community connections program. The purpose of the program is to encourage art museums to reach out to large numbers of people of all ages and backgrounds through imaginative programs and/or exhibits that help us understand and appreciate each other and our world.
To be eligible, art museums must be located in one of the following states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Applicant museums must have been in existence for at least five years and have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
For this program, science and technology museums, museums of natural history, botanical gardens, zoos, children’s museums, and university/college museums are not eligible.
Grants will provide up to $100,000 each.
