Stephen | Friday, September 25th, 2009 | No Comments »Partners Investing in Nursing’s Future, a collaborative initiative of theRobert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Northwest Health Foundation, addresses nursing issues at the community level through funding partnerships with local and regional foundations. This initial investment of funds is intended to create a financial incentive for local and regional foundations to work on nursing workforce issues. The local foundation partnership is responsible for sustaining and expanding the project’s work at the conclusion of the funding period.
Local or regional private, independent, family, or community grantmaking foundations and public charities are eligible to apply for funds. Local foundations and other partners must match awards with $1 for every $1 provided by the program. Eligible foundations are those classified as exempt under Section 501(c)(3) as a public charity or private foundation, a nonexempt charitable trust treated as a private foundation under Section 4947(a)(1), or organizations that claim status as private operating foundations under section 4942(j)(3) or (5) of the Internal Revenue code.
The program will make awards of up to $250,000 for projects lasting up to 24 months (effective September 2010 to September 2012).
