Gardening 101: Top Tips for Easy Gardening and Garden Maintenance

Garden maintenance is tough, with the horror stories full of unkempt grass, weeds and shrubs. The workload associated with gardening and garden maintenance become terrible with inadequate knowledge and experience. There are gardening and garden tips and tricks experts recommend so you can spruce up your exterior. Seasonal planting, a type of traditional planting scheme, may offer great color but would require constant attention, and if you constantly regrow plants and flowers to match a particular time of year, the fun and passion may turn to labor. It is highly advised to make an investment for all-weather perennial plants, moving away from temporary seasonal planting scheme, and focusing more on long-term garden ideas.

While many people love real grass because of its natural feel, many are also satisfied with synthetic grass like multiturf as a viable option. Multiturf or synthetic grass gives you the look that you want without the same level of maintenance. Synthetic grass don’t need to be soiled, won’t grow and are not slippery when wet. When it comes to synthetic grass placement, you’re definitely in full control, and you won’t have patches of grass growing in all the wrong places. You have all the freedom in choosing your garden design and styles like having tiny strips, a huge lawn, or a simple lining around your patio. Unlike in the past, water is not a free at all, so if you own a small pond or you have a water feature in your garden, it is best to avoid making it too shallow, as it dry up fast, needing constant pouring. Having a high water bill is a real headache, but this can be avoided by having larger garden water feature ensures it can self-regulate especially in hot weather.

It may seem a good idea having a separate container for every plant or flower you want to display, but this also means you having to water, feed and plant up dozen of containers which is not ideal. It is better to choose a planter with a larger volume that can hold a greater amount of compost instead of small individual containers, that can get more plants in one space. Additionally, there is a less chance of drying out if there is more compost because you only need to water one big surface area, thus beating watering small ones. Avoiding fast growing hedges and choosing low-maintenance ornamental plants like Caradonna and succulents, can save your time, effort and money from watering, pruning and feeding. Finally, for easy garden maintenance and basic gardening, you need to have the right tools, such as a good pair of clippers or secateurs for a healthy garden, and a good set of trowels and spades.
