Saving water may be a practice that not all are aware of its importance, specially those who don’t feel that the supply has significantly fallen down.

2. Repair leaks immediately. You can lose several tons of water if you let your leaking pipe unsolved. This is the reason why you have to keep an eye with your pipes. With this, you can make sure that you don’t pay extra for the water bill and you save the environment.

3. Minimize watering your lawn. Although you may want to keep your lawn green and bright, this can consume a lot of water than what you can use with showers and baths. But, this is not to say that you should not have your own lawn at all.

What you need to do is to maintain a smaller lawn or replace it with shrubs and gravel landscaping. You can also find grasses that are perfect for warm temperatures. You just have to be very wise in picking a choice.

4. Make your own rain collector. If you want a very obvious way on how to conserve water, the building your own rain collector is a great idea. You can store rain water in it which you can use especially during summer months. You will need to have a hose or sprinkler attached to it.

5. Change your old toilets with the modern ones. What is good with installing modern toilets is that they can use less water in each flush compared in the past. With this, you can significantly save water. Thanks to the manufacturers who are showing concern in saving water.

6. Watering plants is smart when done in the morning. If you water your plants in the morning, the soil can have enough time to soak it before the sun comes high.
